The Garden House
The Garden House
“An interior of outstanding natural beauty”
Condé Naste Traveller
The Garden House gets its name from its private and sheltered walled garden, which is accessed through French doors in the sitting room.
Downstairs, there are three double bedrooms with 6ft double beds which can also be made up as twins, and upstairs a further bedroom with 3ft twin beds. The upstairs bedroom has a ‘stable door’ to contain small children safely. One of the downstairs bedrooms has level access and its own wet room. There is a bathroom with a roll top bath and a further shower room.
The focal point of the sitting room is an open fire, with a plentiful supply of logs. Through an opening is the compact but well-equipped kitchen, with modern appliances including a Miele dishwasher and a large fridge freezer. The dining table seats 8 but can be extended for up to 12 people.
The walled garden is perfect for barbeques (disposable barbie supplied) and has a teak table and 8 chairs. Parking is next to the front door, for up to 4 cars, with plenty of extra space if required.
The house is M2 graded under the National Accessible Scheme. There is a ground level ensuite bedroom and paved slope to the front door.
There is a threshold at the front door which opens into a small hallway. The front door has a black lever handle which contrasts with the pale green paintwork, 770mm wide. Lighting automatically comes on at night when you approach.
The living area has oak flooring and is open to the kitchen. There is level access to a bedroom with en suite wet room. The beds are firm, pillows are hi-loft non-feather and the goose down duvet is hypo-allergenic. The wet room has one grab handle and is designed to assist mobility, but does not have a full Doc M pack. The basin is at 75cm from the floor with knee space below. The floor finish is non-slip. Firmer armchair, shower stool and raised toilet seat available on request.
Internal doorways are 82cm and door handles are contrasting black. Decoration is in light colours. The TV is large.
